Computer Security: Keeping your financial and personal information secure and confidential is one of our most important responsibilities. Your information remains secure because our computer systems are protected in the following ways:
- Computer anti-virus protection detects and prevents viruses from entering our computer network systems.
- Firewalls block unauthorized access by individuals or networks. Firewalls are one way we protect our computer systems that interact with the Internet.
- Secure transmissions ensure information remains confidential. We use encryption technology, such as Secure Socket Layer (SSL), to transmit information between you and us.
- Advances in security technology are constantly evaluated by our experts to ensure that we provide the right protection for you.
We may offer you links to 3rd party websites not controlled by the State Bank & Trust Company. If you choose to visit these web sites, we are not responsible for privacy or security as well as accuracy of the information they provide.
Email: Email can be used for sending scams warning of a computer virus and to take action right away, or in the form of special offers from companies which are not legitimate. If you receive an email that looks suspicious, DO NOT OPEN IT, DO NOT FORWARD IT, & DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY. If you receive a warning of a new computer virus, check the website of your anti-virus software vendor to validate the warning before taking any action. Also, it is best to implement the patch or update directly from your vendor as opposed to a 3rd party website, if your software does not automatically do it for you.
State Bank & Trust Company will never solicit personal information from you via email. Do not supply personal information to an email request at any time.
