Student Loans:

State Bank & Trust Company offers Subsided Federal Stafford Loans, Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans, Grad PLUS Loans and PLUS Loans. These are low interest loans which assist students and parents with paying for the cost of college. Our loans offer up-front and repayment benefits that save you money.

Our lender code is 804233. Your school may ask you to select a lender for your Stafford, Grad PLUS, or PLUS Loan, if so you can select SBT by indicating our lender code on the forms provided by your school.

Below are three easy steps in applying for your Financial Aid:

1. Before applying for a student loan you will need to complete and submit the FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA). You can do this on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

2. Once this step is complete, both you and the colleges you list on your FAFSA will receive a Student Aid Report in the mail within four weeks. This letter will report your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). These colleges will then use this information to calculate your Financial Need (Cost of Attendance - EFC = Financial Need).

3. These colleges will then provide you with an award letter which lists the types and amounts of financial aid for which you qualify. Be sure to respond to the college as requested as failure to respond can be interpreted as declining the financial aid being offered.
